Editorial Process

All articles submitted to Pharos undergo a preliminary assessment by the Editorial Board to determine their thematic suitability, compliance with submission guidelines, and originality. This initial screening stage may take up to one month.

Articles that pass the preliminary assessment will proceed to a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential to guarantee the objectivity of the evaluation. Each article will be reviewed by at least two external specialists, who will issue reports based on previously defined academic criteria, including relevance, methodological rigor, argumentative clarity, and the currency of the bibliography, among others. Reviewers will have up to two months to complete their evaluations.

In cases of substantial discrepancy between reviewers’ reports, the Editorial Board may request an additional review.

Possible editorial decisions include: acceptance without modifications, acceptance subject to minor modifications, acceptance subject to substantive modifications, or rejection.

Authors will receive the anonymous reports along with the corresponding comments and will have a period of up to one month to send the revised version of their article. Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the Editorial Board will issue a final publication decision within a period of up to one month.
