Mission and Vision

Pharos seeks to strengthen CTPCBA’s commitment to research, professional development, and the dissemination of knowledge in the field of translation and interpreting. As an open-access peer-reviewed journal, it aims to provide a platform for the dissemination of original research that contributes to the advancement of and critical reflection on translation and interpreting theory and practice.

Pharos aspires to become a point of reference in both academic and professional contexts, characterized by high standards of quality, rigor, and disciplinary diversity. Its purpose is to serve as a forum for exchange among researchers, educators, professionals, and students, fostering dialogue between theory and practice.

Target Readership

Pharos addresses professionals in translation and interpreting, terminologists, linguists, and researchers working in Translation Studies, Linguistics, Terminology, Literature and Audiovisual Media, Cultural Studies, and related fields. It also welcomes undergraduate and postgraduate students of translation and related disciplines.

Objectives

Pharos aims to:

●    promote academic research in Translation and Interpreting Studies, Terminology, Linguistics, Translator Education, and applied technology;

●     support the dissemination of research in the field of translation and interpreting;

●     encourage the publication of research projects conducted by sworn translators registered with CTPCBA;

●     facilitate the exchange of knowledge among scholars, professionals, and translation students;

●     foster informed and critical debate on theoretical and applied issues relevant to translation and interpreting.
