Digital Preservation Policy

Pharos guarantees digital preservation and permanent access of its content through a set of technical strategies implemented within its editorial management system (OJS – Open Journal Systems). All published articles are stored on the institutional server of the Colegio de Traductores Públicos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, which is supported by regular backup procedures and data protection mechanisms. In addition, content is backed up on an external storage device which will be updated when each new issue is published.

Pharos also participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), an international network designed to safeguard academic journals through a distributed system of multiple copies, ensuring content recovery even in the event of data loss or closure of the journal’s official website.

Each published article has a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which allows its persistent location and facilitates its citation, indexing, and long-term preservation. Together, these measures ensure that the scholarly content published in the journal remains accessible, intact, and reliable over time.
