Originality and Plagiarism Policy

Pharos considers plagiarism and self-plagiarism to be unacceptable practices.

Plagiarism is defined as the presentation of others’ work or ideas as one’s own without giving credit to the original authors. Self-plagiarism is considered the reuse of one’s own previously published material without indicating the reference of the previous work, presenting it as new and original work.

The procedure for plagiarism control includes the following levels:

Originality requirement: The submission of unpublished articles is a mandatory requirement for consideration. Likewise, authors are required to provide explicit and accurate mention of all sources, in accordance with the journal’s referencing guidelines.

In addition, when manuscripts are sent to peer reviewers, they are expressly asked to pay attention to any potential indicators of plagiarism.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an originality check prior to the start of the peer review process in order to ensure the originality of the work and the proper attribution of all sources used. To this end, the editorial team uses similarity and plagiarism detection tools, including Plagium, Plagiarism Checker, and Duplichecker.

If any evidence of plagiarism or self-plagiarism is identified at any stage of the editorial process, the article will be rejected and the author will be formally notified.
